Terms of service

The service

HomeMentor organizes your appliances: it identifies them from photos, retrieves manufacturer manuals, builds maintenance schedules, and answers questions grounded in those manuals. It’s provided as-is, and while we work hard to be accurate, extracted schedules and AI answers can contain mistakes — always follow the manufacturer’s printed documentation and local codes.

Safety first

Maintenance and repair carry real risks. Electrical, gas, and refrigerant work is regulated in most places and is often a job for a licensed professional. HomeMentor’s guidance is informational and never a substitute for professional judgment. If in doubt, hire a pro — we’ll even help you search for one.

Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself and use the service for your own household. Preview accounts include up to three appliances. Pro features and paid billing are not available during the preview.

Your content

Photos, notes, and records you upload remain yours. You grant us the limited rights needed to store and process them to provide the service — nothing more.

Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, resell it, or upload content you don’t have rights to. We may suspend accounts that do.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeMentor’s liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the twelve months before a claim. We’re a notebook, not an insurance policy.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
